Because of Covid-19, I have come out of teacher retirement! I love working with Drake 2 hrs on weekdays to continue his kindergarten schooling. He likes having his own office. It’s reading, writing and arithmetic…and some fun! He draws amazing pictures to illustrate the stories he reads. We play Simon Says, do silly dances, and he tells me adventure stories. I can’t be with him right now, but he still fills my heart with joy!
The photos above: My energetic student, Journal pictures and writings, Math page, His journal page where he expanded a camping story into a complex mystery of the lost jewel and sword. Books he reads to me.
Sally grew up in Birmingham, Michigan in a happy, raucous family of seven. She received her teaching degree from Michigan State and masters degree from Dartmouth College. After many adventurous years, Sally, her husband, David and daughter, Julie, settled in Fort Collins, Colorado. They love to hike, fish and camp in the Rocky Mountains and travel throughout the world. Gardening is also one of Sally's great loves.
Sally has always enjoyed telling stories to children and is delighted that this story is now a published book. She thanks her daughter, Julie, for her design layout and editing preparation, and son-in-law, Ben, for his imaginative illustrations.
